New Dates for the
International Luxury Travel Market, 2006

Plus proof that it’s the place to go!

The International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) has announced new dates for its 2006 show. The pre-exhibition conference will take place on 4 December, at the Palais des Congres, Cannes, with the exhibition running from 5 – 7 December in the same venue.*

The calibre of attendees at 2005’s ILTM in December was second to none – over 98% of visitors were prime decision makers in their company (Senior Management, Partner or CEO bracket). But even the lofty come to learn; 94% rated the opportunity to understand new product and trends as one of their main motivations in attending the show.

Searching out new business suppliers was the key reason to visit ILTM at 98% and significantly 100% of visitors claimed they were successful in achieving their objective of finding new business suppliers with 89% actually making a purchase from a new supplier.

Once again ILTM proved that by keeping focused exclusively on the very best destinations, properties and luxury travel experiences, it is able to deliver significant and valued results, both for exhibitors and attendees. 99% rated the show as a highly productive use of their time.

For exhibitors it was all about creating new contacts and generating sales, as 91% cited generating new business leads as their prime motivator for attending ILTM. 85% of exhibitors thought the show successful in establishing new business contacts. Indeed, there was a significant amount of business done actually at the show – 36% of exhibitors made on site bookings of up to US$799,999, while an industrious 3% made bookings of up to US$16 million.

As a direct result of the good business achieved, 90% of exhibitors rated the return on investment positively with 92% planning to return to ILTM 2006, making it a ‘must attend’ event for the luxury travel industry.

Hotels proved to be by far the most popular category of exhibitor, with the stands of the five or six star properties and boutique properties being the most visited. Interestingly it was the fixers of the luxury travel world, that can create out of the ordinary travel experiences for the uber-affluent, that were the second most popular category of exhibitor. In terms of destinations the romance of Italy and Spain remain intact, as they emerged as the most popular destinations, closely followed by South Africa and Greece.
